The inhabited roccolo

The inhabited roccolo

Roccolo is a fascinating reinterpretation of a typical architecture of the Lombard landscape in a contemporary key, combining tradition with a contemporary look to the future. Designed as a vertical place that connects the Earth to the cosmos through the soul, to escape from the pressures of the urban world in the modesty of simple forms and natural materials. Living inside it involves knowing how to admire nature, love it and learn to know it also through the concept of emptiness.

Statement of the jury

The tower-like architecture is comprised of different volumes that create a sculptural construction. A variety of materials and textures – in the form of cement, larch wood and metal – further differentiate the volumes from one another. As well as this, the construction makes a formal and material connection with the region.
