HarbourLoop Hong Kong
A vision for a healthier Hong Kong, the HarbourLoop plans to transform the contours of Hong Kong’s waterfront into an iconic 23 km urban cycle, running and walking network. The route would be punctuated with “hubs” to allow users to rest, refresh or meet friends. The three types of hub reflect the needs of the context and community, and offer opportunities to regenerate hard-to-reach or underused areas.
This spectacular project consolidates the entire shoreline of Hong Kong’s harbour into a contiguous recreational area. Hubs distributed around the HarbourLoop (as it is called) can be used as gathering places for cultural events, sports and gastronomy. A unique project that is within ten minutes’ walking distance for around 1.7 million people and that thus enhances the quality of life in Hong Kong.
