Silo

Description

The tap was designed for the Portuguese Language Museum. The Museum is inside cereal silos and the cylindrical shapes are very present and very elegant, which served as inspiration for the tap. It was necessary that the shape of the tap was somehow supported in the form of Museum’s Silos. We aimed for a simple and robust construction. The composition of two interlocking cylinders is based on the deconstruction of the original shape of the silos. The connecting part of these cylinders is casted,

Statement of the jury

The »Silo« faucet cleverly plays with the cylindrical shape and thus not only reflects the theme of the grain silo in an original way, but also makes the timelessly modern-looking faucet an eye-catcher in the washroom.
