Mehrfamilienhaus Gapont

Description

The three storey solid-wood house is located on a narrow plot in the village centre of Triesen, Liechtenstein. The site slopes slightly towards the west. The location and the topography were constituent for the volume and the inner organisation of the different apartements. The staircase and the cellars face the hillside. The level development inside the flats reflects the enlarged topography and create zones between night and day areas.

Statement of the jury

From a visual standpoint, this design blends in with its surroundings harmoniously by virtue of its wood façade; it’s also a harmonious addition to its surroundings from the standpoint of form, in that it is a perfect fit with the terrain – and thus allows for optimal use of the available interior space.
