Else Lasker-Schüler is celebrated as a great and world-famous poet; her plays in particular are considered challenging. In her last drama »IchundIch«, the poet, in her overwrite of Goethe’s Faust, shows how subtle German culture and literature are being overrun and hijacked by Nazi hordes. The play »IchundIch« belongs to Wuppertal – especially in 2019, the 150th anniversary year of Else Lasker-Schüler’s birth.
