lizard house

lizard house

Description

The project draws inspiration from the territory, taking its cue from existing structures. The wall blends in with the line of the land before undergoing a transformation into a reptilian monolith that rises from the top of the hill. Concrete provides visual unity, establishing the morphology of the project and echoing the rock that forms the hill. A layer of plants covers the wooden roof, like moss on a trunk, further reinforcing the way the structure blends perfectly into the surrounding site.

Statement of the jury

It’s fascinating how the long concrete structures are adapted to the hill’s topography and integrate themselves into it. Large, well-placed windows in this elegant concept provide brilliant views and connect the interior with the surrounding landscape.
