Tea House

Tea House

Description

The shortcoming of the iron sheet house is the thermal conductivity of the metal, which can easily be affected by the extreme weather conditions. To solve the problem, we apply a building insulation wall positioned 60 cm away from the iron sheet house. The building insulation wall, composed of a mixture of white cement and Penghu sands, creates gaps that not only reduce heat and absorb sound, reducing noise, but also ensure the house is breathable and effectively regulate temperature.

Statement of the jury

For cost reasons, many houses in Taiwan's past were built of steel and sheet metal, with the disadvantage of being cold in winter and hot in summer. In order to preserve the historic structure, this building was given an additional layer of insulation made of special cement panels, creating a look that is as modern as it is elegant.
