Dandelion

Dandelion

Description

Dandelion is inspired by a shape of pure geometry, the “fullerenes molecule,” also known as “buckyball,” a sphere formed by an ordered combination of pentagons and hexagons. Dandelion can be considered as one single lamp or a combination of lamps. The LZF wood veneer enfolds every geometrical shape, like cones sinking at different depths into the heart of Dandelion. The result is a very original lamp, a geometric puzzle of light which resembles one of the most basic forms of life.

Statement of the jury

The design of the Dandelion is primarily characterized by its intriguingly designed solid body, which is the result of the sophisticated, professional handling of the material. The geometrically inspired design of the luminaire has a wonderfully organic quality and bears a somewhat poetic resemblance to a flower or a small aquatic organism.
