AT REFORM

AT REFORM

Description

It’s a conversion project for a remodeling company to establish a showroom in beautiful region of Japan. Since the existing building is a rental property, the shape could not be changed, but advertising aspects were requested. So we proposed an architectural signboard. Its symbolic opening came from the company logo. I used local wood to create a 1 m buffer zone around the building and to transplant local plants. The interior space has an independent showcase to provide an experience like looking at life through the window.

Statement of the jury

The idea of the external cladding with the iconic house-shaped cut outs grabs attention and rouses curiosity. Brilliantly solved.
